Brenda Thompson is the founding partner of B&B Artistry. Her inspiration came from an automotive touch-up background. Twenty nine years ago, she realized the same touch-up techniques she was using to keep cars on car lots looking good could be utilized on painted structural metal surfaces inside the beautiful office buildings in Houston. It was an inspired idea that supported her strong belief in doing what's right for the environment while providing a valuable service to clients. At that time, the only paint maintenance of elevators, rest room partitions, doors and frames and other painted structural metal was done using spray equipment that required as much as 90 psi causing building managers and engineers a great deal of stress and mess and creating dangerous internal air quality issues; or by painters who used brushes and rollers to apply textured, rough surfaces. Brenda's innovative ideas about maintenance of painted metal has revolutionized the industry in Houston, Texas.
Having herself survived a difficult domestic situation and desiring to make a difference in the world, Brenda's dream has been to help other women make a living and take care of their families. With that in mind, she has always reached out to organizations that help women who are trying to create a new life for themselves and their families.
B&B Artistry in 1992. She brought her skills as a manager and
entrepreneur to the growing business. Marilyn moved from Oklahoma City
to Houston in 1986 to help create a successful yacht chartering
business in Kemah which she co-owned and operated for five years. She
believed in B&B Artistry and in Brenda's goals for the company from
the beginning, seeing the potential of the inspired idea of a
Maintenance Program for painted structural metal.
Marilyn shares Brenda's belief in protecting the environment while
creating jobs for good people. She is the power behind the scenes who
makes sure B&B runs smoothly.
Marilyn's early professional background was as a Service
Representative and then a Benefit Office Supervisor for Southwestern
Bell. She spent a year living on a kibbutz in Israel in her twenties,
which contributes to her expanded outlook on the world.
Marilyn has worked hard to help create the success of B&B.
She is happy to be part of a company that provides a much needed
service for clients and supports a safe, earth friendly environment
while providing good working conditions for employees.
